There are many opportunities with YWCA Jamestown to get involved. We welcome volunteers and donators to visit us at anytime.
YWCA Membership means being a part of something bigger than Jamestown, New York, than even the United States. The YWCA has a presence in 125 countries, and more than 1300 sites throughout the United States. YWCA provides services in areas of economic empowerment, health and safety, racial justice and civil rights to more than 25 million women and girls.
Locally, YWCA Jamestown has nine programs in seven sites and provides services for women and their families through: day care, housing, racial justice, nutrition, child care and educational services for pregnant and parenting teens, five after school programs and comprehensive pregnancy prevention services: youth development, parent and community education and coalition building.
YWCA Jamestown receives local, state and federal grants from many agencies, as well as community donations. Your membership dollars go directly to support local YWCA services and programs. Your monies enable us to continue providing these programs throughout our community.
The YWCA is excited to launch their 2018 membership campaign: "Strong Women, Strong Community". There are twelve woman owned businesses that will be offering a one time discount for members joining at the $50.00 and up level. Thank you to: Forbici Hair Design, Alpacaville, LulaRoe with Chris & Jordan, Yarn For Ewe, GG My Love, Randolph Retail Company, Paparazzi, Re-Imagine Decor & More, Green Heron Growers, Off The Beaten Path Bookstore, Quilters Haven and Cala Lily Yarn Shop. You can join using the membership form on web page or call 488-2237 to join over the phone.
There are many ways to become involved in YWCA Jamestown: volunteer for the Board of Directors or Trustees, plan and volunteer for special events, yoga classes, quilting and serving on an agency committee- Fundraising, Lake Lodge, Social Justice, Nominating or Membership. The YWCA is also recruiting volunteers for the Supervised Visitation program. These volunteers will work alongside trained staff to monitor safe visitation and exchanges for children and their families.
Call us at 488-2237 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in volunteering. We especially invite past members to renew their relationship with the YWCA!
